I went to the Sulis Hospital in Bath, to get my Cataract surgery in January. My experience with them was Brilliant!

What originally attracted me to Chrysalis Finance is that it was going to be a 12-month wait on the national health and I don’t have health insurance. I asked my surgeon if there were any other options, and she suggested Chrysalis using the 0% APR option over 12 months. This is something I would never have considered, and something I had only heard about years ago!

I decided to go for it. It was a huge relief knowing I had access to a payment plan, mostly in case there was a glitch, and something went wrong, but having this plan took the pressure off. The process from start to finish was very simple and easy, including the application forms. There was one query when the payment was made, and I had a few questions. But I rang up and it was resolved right away by the customer service team.

I would have still been able to pay for my cataract treatment without a payment plan but with the option to spread the cost and the cost of living going up, it definitely helped me. It also made sense to do it over the 12 months, interest-free. If it was a large operation like a hip operation for example, I wouldn’t have been able to choose the same option with the high monthly payments, but it worked well with my Cataract Surgery.

My experience with Sulis Hospital was just brilliant, the surgeon was on the ball and the staff were lovely. They always made me feel relaxed, and with me getting treatment done on my eyes it was very important to me that I felt confident with who and where I got the surgery.

The main reason I went private for my treatment was because I wanted to know who was doing the operation and with this, you can choose your own surgeon. Unlike the National health which I felt created more risk. The surgeon who did my treatment was Mr Baer, who was recommended to me. He made me feel in safe hands the whole time and I was extremely happy with my decision!

My surgery has certainly influenced my way of living as I was originally miss diagnosed which left me struggling with my eyesight for 3 years before the operation. It was everyday things which I was struggling to do, such as reading, the ground not being clear, and even cutting veg was a challenge. My eyes were always competing with one another. Now my vision is marvellous, everything Is sharp, and I can see long distance again! Honestly, I have told everyone about the service and will certainly use Chrysalis again if I ever need private health care!
