After debating it for years I decided to take the plunge and get a breast reduction!
I am 64 and have always wanted the treatment, then when I found out about Chrysalis Finance it made up my mind!
As I got older my breasts got larger, meaning the last few years I looked into reduction in more detail. I had a letter from the surgeon at Circle The Carvell Hospital with the costs and fees, which included the option of spreading the cost with a payment plan. I was aware this was an option, although previously thought it was people who were struggling. However, when I saw ‘Interest Free 0%’ I had nothing to lose, and I completed the application.
Access to the payment plan allowed me to keep my money into savings and cash in the bank, having kids it’s nice to have money there for emergencies!
I had changed my mind about having the treatment done many a times and thought I was being selfish spending all this money on myself. Having the interest free option really made up my mind, and my husband said just go for it! Spending £9,000 in one go would wipe out our savings, therefore this took away the risk and worry.
Previously I had never considered going private. I had tried to arrange treatment through the NHS but that took over 2 years and didn’t end up working out! After being on a long waiting list I had appointments with a surgeon, but they then explained how the NHS rarely fund breast reduction anymore and due to the covid pandemic it was not a priority. Whilst my breast size has caused me a lot of discomfort and back pain, treatment was not considered essential by the NHS.
The process of applying for Chrysalis finance was really fast – I was so surprised. I applied one Saturday night and in moments I got accepted and thought Hallelujah! I immediately paid a deposit to secure an appointment and went from there!
It’s only one week since my operation at Circle The Carvell Hospital, already I have no back ache or pain. I feel so much lighter. I was a 34F and now around a 34C like I used to be.
I tried on a few tops this week, even some V neck which I can now wear again! I didn’t realise I was getting a breast lift at the same time which I am happy with. I’m excited to wear nice clothes and have the freedom to wear tops I couldn’t before.
